All-on-6 Dental Implants in Chandigarh: When 6 Implants Are the Better Choice
ALL-ON-6 DENTAL IMPLANTS IN CHANDIGARH
Medically reviewed by Dr. Anshu Gupta, MDS (Gold Medalist, PGIMER) · Updated September 2026
What are ALL-ON-6 Dental Implants
Short Answer
All-on-6 is recommended over All-on-4 when a patient needs additional support for a larger bite force, has lower bone density in certain areas of the jaw, or wants extra long-term stability for a full-arch restoration — particularly common in the upper jaw. All-on-4 remains suitable for many standard cases, but All-on-6 provides a wider distribution of chewing load across two additional implants.
When Is All-on-6 Indicated Over All-on-4?
1. Upper jaw cases with variable bone density
The upper jaw (maxilla) generally has softer bone than the lower jaw. Two additional implants spread the load more evenly, reducing stress on any single implant.
2. Patients who grind or clench their teeth (bruxism)
Extra implants better withstand the higher, repetitive forces from grinding, reducing the risk of implant strain over time.
3. Larger or more complex full-arch restorations
Wider prosthetics or restorations needing extra anchor points for stability are often better supported by six implants than four.
4. Higher bite force individuals
Patients with naturally strong bite force may benefit from the added support to distribute chewing pressure more evenly.
5. Long-term stability preference
Some patients — and some clinical situations — call for the added redundancy: if one implant were ever to need attention, the remaining five continue supporting the arch, versus three in an All-on-4 case.
When All-on-4 Is Still the Right Choice
All-on-4 remains an excellent, well-proven option for many patients — particularly the lower jaw (which has naturally denser bone), patients with adequate but not abundant bone volume, and cases where minimizing surgical sites is preferred. All-on-4 is not simply an "upgrade path" that everyone needs to skip past — it's dependent entirely on your specific bone structure and bite force.
The Only Way to Know: A CBCT Scan
The decision between four and six implants isn't a preference — it's determined by your jawbone's density, volume, and shape, mapped precisely through a CBCT scan. This is why the recommendation always follows a proper clinical evaluation rather than a general rule.

FAQs
How much does All-on-6 cost in Chandigarh?
All-on-6 at Advanced Dental Care Centre costs ₹4,00,000 to ₹8,00,000 (about USD 4,210 to USD 8,420). This is an all-inclusive price covering your CBCT scan, treatment planning, six implants, abutments, temporary teeth if required, and your final fixed teeth.
Is All-on-6 more expensive than All-on-4?
Both fall within the same ₹4,00,000 to ₹8,00,000 range. Because All-on-6 uses two additional implants, it usually sits towards the upper end of that range. The right choice depends on your bone structure and bite force, not cost alone, and you receive an itemised quote after your CBCT scan.
What affects the final cost of All-on-6?
The main factors are the implant brand chosen, the material of your final fixed teeth, and your bone condition. Extraction of any remaining failing teeth is charged separately.
Does All-on-6 last longer than All-on-4?
Both offer strong long-term durability when properly cared for. All-on-6 may offer additional load distribution in specific cases, but longevity depends more on oral hygiene, regular check-ups and individual bite forces than on the number of implants alone.
Can I choose All-on-6 even if I only need All-on-4?
Dr. Anshu Gupta's recommendation is based on your bone structure and bite force, and a CBCT scan confirms what's clinically appropriate for your case. Where both options are suitable, she will explain the benefits of each so you can decide together.
Do I get fixed teeth on the same day with All-on-6?
In suitable cases, a fixed temporary bridge can be attached within a day or two of surgery. Your final fixed teeth are fitted after 3 to 6 months of healing, once the implants have bonded with the bone.
Do I need bone grafting for All-on-6?
Often not. The six implants are positioned to make the best use of your available bone. If bone loss is severe, zygoma or pterygoid implants may be recommended instead.
Is All-on-6 painful?
The procedure is done under effective local anaesthesia, so most patients feel pressure but no pain. Mild soreness and swelling for a few days afterwards is normal and is usually well controlled with prescribed medicines.
Can overseas patients have All-on-6 in Chandigarh?
Yes. Many patients travel from Australia, the UK, Canada, the USA and the UAE for full-arch implants. With our protocols for overseas patients, treatment can be completed within 2 to 3 weeks in selected cases, and many patients save significantly compared with costs at home.
