This
28-year-old patient lost her two front teeth in a motorcycle accident.
|
Two
dental implants were surgically placed
on her upper jaw. Two metal-ceramic crowns
were then constructed. |
|
|
This
70-year-old patient was missing a maxillary right second bicuspid.
Instead of constructing a 3-unit bridge, an implant was surgically
placed. |
A porcelain-fused-to-metal crown was constructed and cemented
onto the implant abutment. Functionally,
it works the same as a 3-unit-bridge, but it is a more conservative
approach because the adjacent tooth structure does not need to
be re-shaped. |

This
patient came to see Dr. Anshu after his previous dentist told
him that he should have his last few teeth removed and have a
denture made. The patient did not feel he was ready to wear dentures!
He did not realize just how important those last few teeth really
were. A
couple of teeth, as insignificant as that dentist thought they
were, are often the key to a more precise sensation of pressure
and position during chewing. Although, the patient had lost a
significant amount of bone over the years due to an ill fitting
partial denture, we were able to improve the quantity of bone
also. |
Several
dental implants were then placed and
subsequently restored with esthetic porcelain crowns.
He
now enjoys his meals because he can chew more efficiently, his
food tastes better due to the lack of an acrylic appliance in
his mouth and he is more confident in laughter, speech and most
other social interactions.

This
patient was having problems with her existing bridge.
Unfortunately, it was determined that one tooth had extensive
decay making the tooth un-restorable.
|
Both
teeth needed to be removed and a bone preservation technique was
performed to keep the bone from resorbing immediately after the
extractions. This successfully maintained the bone dimension for
ideal implant placement. Two implants
were placed and a new aesthetic porcelain bridge
was fabricated.

This
patient came
to us from London with the complaint that her teeth were not
visible when she smiled or talked. She had a smile and facial
appearance like that of a
patient without a complete set of teeth or the patient with
dentures.
We
examined her and found out that she had worn out upper
and lower
front teeth, especially on the inner side. She
also had missing first molars on both upper right and left
sides.
|
After
complete examination, we decided to increase her bite to
increase
the length and therefore the visibility of her upper front
teeth. We also decided to replace her missing upper molars
simultaneously.
To increase her bite or her vertical dimension, we decided
to place ceramic crowns on
all her upper and lower back teeth and once we did this,
we then
proceeded to give her ceramic crowns
on upper front teeth.
The final
result can be seen above. We
succeeded in achieving the treatment goals in just two
weeks.
She went back happy and with a complete new look
looking much younger.

| This
young patient came
to us from Singapore with the complaint of broken upper left
front tooth.The patient
had previosly undergone root canal treatment in the same tooth
and had a crown put on it but no post had been placed by the previous
dentist. |
After
treatment planning, we put the latest
fiber post in
the root to
build up a new tooth on top of it. We removed 2/3 of her
root filling for that, put the fiber post or the pin, and completed
the core build up in just one sitting of one hour.
Same day,
we took
her impressions for the porcelain fused to metal crown, gave
her a temporary crown and sent her back to enjoy her vacation.
In the next
visit she had her permanent crown.
